Overview

• Travel/contract role in Decatur, Illinois
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• Average daily census: 35
• 13-week assignment
• Acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma center
• 372 staffed beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Cerner

Required Clinical Experience

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including telemetry remote monitoring and use of Rapid Response Teams
• Gastrointestinal care experience: colostomy care, feeding tube care and management
• Genitourinary/renal care experience: pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure
• IV therapy/phlebotomy experience: accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
• Medication experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Respiratory care experience: CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, tracheostomy management
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care/wound vac

Certifications

• BLS required

Preferred

• Cerner experience

Scheduling / Float

• Will float as needed per department needs
• Block schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
• Locals accepted with no radius restriction
• Requested time off ideally no more than 5 days
