Role Summary

Provides direct patient care on the unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, discharges, patient and family education, care coordination, and individualized treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
• Develop and update care plans based on patient needs and interdisciplinary input
• Carry out nursing interventions and therapies within scope of practice
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes appropriately
• Prioritize care for multiple patients and coordinate workload
• Delegate tasks and oversee delegated patient care
• Support discharge planning and discharge teaching
• Participate in unit-based activities and quality improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• Nursing practice based on evidence, current research, policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
