DMCC - High Acuity Unit RN
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend and to fill holes
- Holiday rotation and to fill holes
Unit Details
- Critical Care unit
- 8 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3
- House Supervisor available 24/7
- No nurse aides/patient care techs on the unit
- RT available in house 24/7
- Telemetry monitors are hard wired in each ICU bed and centrally monitored by telemetry techs
- ICU RNs may float to MS unit
Required Qualifications
- Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Must have experience with PEG tube care/feedings
- Must have experience with CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care
- Must have experience with tracheostomy patients
- Must have experience caring for sedated, ventilated patients
- Must have experience titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips
Patient Population / Clinical Experience
- Respiratory failure
- Post surgical
- Wound care
- IV antibiotics
- Post CVA
- Post trauma
- Cardiac patients
Additional Notes
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Drug-free campus; negative drug screen required for all panels
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation
- Classroom orientation per policy plus 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Scrubs only; OSF approved t-shirts allowed in any color
