Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care
• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in respiratory care
• Healthcare or customer service experience
• Limited permit/student respiratory license experience

Role Summary

• Assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions
• Provides invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure
• Performs diagnostic test procedures
• Responds to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response
• Provides airway management, including care and maintenance of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
• Performs provider-prescribed medicated and non-medicated therapies, oxygen therapy, and patient education
• Completes pulmonary function testing, neurodiagnostic studies, cardiac testing, arterial and capillary blood gas sampling, and oximetry studies
• Documents patient care, communicates with the care team, participates in quality improvement and departmental processes, and manages equipment and supplies
