Labor & Delivery RN

Overview

13-week contract
12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Location: Albany, Georgia

Required Qualifications

RN license
2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
Travel experience required
ACLS
BLS
NRP
Intermediate or above EFM

Unit Details

Unit: L&D
12 labor beds
5 antepartum beds
2 ORs
OB emergency room with 6 beds
About 150-200 births per month

Schedule and Work Expectations

Every other weekend
Call is required
Holidays rotate with permanent staff
Shifts: 6:45a and 6:45p
Floating as needed to postpartum
2-shift unit orientation

Clinical Environment

Ratios follow AWHONN
FHM system: OB Trace
EMR: Meditech
Charge nurse generally outside the staffing grid
Nurse aides/OB techs: OR techs serve as OB techs
Tele: none
Vents: none
OB/neonatologist in house 24/7
RT 24/7: yes
Pharmacy 24/7: yes

Patient Population

High-risk OB to routine OB
Antepartum patients who may stay before going home or delivering

Additional Notes

OR techs scrub for C-sections, attend vaginal deliveries, and do stocking
C-sections, cerclages, and tubals are done on unit
Baby-friendly hospital
Lactation support is available in house
