Overview

• Role: ER RN
• Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Evening, Night
• Hours per week: 36
• Hours per day: 12

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit / Department Details

• Emergency department with 14 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Trauma Level IV
• No STEMI receiving and no stroke center; patients are sent out
• Fast Track with 3 designated rooms
• Separate triage area with 2 triage rooms
• Separate holding area is available; overflow may use attached ACU rooms
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms can be created as needed
• 24/7 ED physician coverage
• 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy
• 24/7 phlebotomy
• No monitor techs; RNs read their own strips
• X-ray is down the hall and available 24/7; CT is nearby
• Average census is 40-60 patients per day
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4 during the day, with higher ratios at night

Scheduling / Work Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required, including 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Manager builds the schedule and may rotate variable start times
• Floating to inpatient for helping hands

Additional Notes

• Travelers can triage after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates within 80 miles are subject to reduced client rates
• Clinician must clock in and out at the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked for the facility, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
