RN MedSurg/PCU

Overview

• Contract role in Clarkston, Washington
• 25-bed CAH
• Nights, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Med Surg experience
• BLS
• ACLS

Scheduling Notes

• Willing and able to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal RTO dates

Responsibilities

• Provides patient and family education using appropriate education modalities
• Supports patient safety through preventative measures, including side rails, restraints, and safe use of equipment
• Follows restraint policy correctly and documents appropriately
• Demonstrates safe operation of equipment in the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Uses troubleshooting techniques and follows procedures for repair of essential equipment
• Accesses equipment manuals as needed
• Implements infection control and isolation procedures
• Uses standard precautions at all times
• Maintains complete, accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during the shift
• Documents charge accurately
• Completes physician orders in a timely manner
• Completes 24-hour check of orders when within shift duties
• Gives complete and accurate change-of-shift report
• Communicates with other departments completely and accurately
• Reports critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy
• Maintains and restocks emergency carts, room supplies, and general supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned
