Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Springfield, Illinois
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours per week
• Average daily census: 22 patients
• 13-week contract
• First-timers not accepted
• Locals accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Will float to other units within scope as needed
• On-call not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• One completed travel assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Experience with Colostomy Care
• Experience with feeding tubes
• Experience with Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• Experience with Renal failure
• Experience with Blood Product Administration
• Experience with Central line blood draw
• Experience with Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Experience with PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Heparin
• Insulin
• PCA
• Experience working with Spinal Cord Injury patients
• Ortho trauma experience
• Surgical drains experience
• CPAP/BiPAP
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Nasal Cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Oral suctioning
• Oxygen face masks
• Portable Oxygen tank
• Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery
• Tracheostomy Management
• Isolation Precautions
• Wound Care/Wound Vac
