ED Nanticoke RN

Overview

• Emergency Department RN role in Seaford, Delaware.
• 13-week contract.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• 23-bed ED with 5 fast track chairs and 4 preferred behavioral health rooms, plus hall beds.

Required Qualifications

• DE or Compact RN license.
• BLS (AHA Only).
• ACLS (AHA Only).
• TNCC.
• NIHSS.
• 2 years of ED nursing experience.

Preferred

• Travel experience.

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour shifts based on department needs.
• 7p–7:30a shift.
• Weekends required, every other or every third depending on department needs.
• No call time required.
• Does not work alone.

Unit Details

• Care for emergency patients from birth to death, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, pediatric, stroke, and general medical cases.
• Triage using ESI.
• Core duties include assessment, IVs, cardiac monitoring, blood draws, medication administration, trauma resuscitation, codes, and patient teaching.
• Equipment includes EPIC, Level One, Ranger, cardiac monitor, defibrillator, and Omnicell.
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1; critical care ratio is 1:1 or 2:1.
• Navy blue scrubs and non-slip shoes required.

Orientation

• First day with educator.
• Preceptor-based unit orientation with 2 x 12-hour shifts.
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation.
