Acute Care G200 RN

Overview

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Local placements accepted within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Last four digits of SSN
• Clinician’s middle initial
• Requested time off
• Negative drug screen for all panels

Unit Details

• Acute Care G200 is a 29-bed unit
• Typical census is 22–26, with a target census of 25
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4–5:1 on days and 5–6:1 on nights
• The unit has private and semi-private rooms
• Common patient types include GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, comfort measures, osteomyelitis, falls, DVT, and pulmonary embolisms
• Patients may leave for surgery or procedures and return to the unit

Clinical Expectations

• RNs are required to titrate Heparin drips only
• RNs are expected to attempt IV starts and use unit resources if unsuccessful

Scheduling and Operations

• Every other weekend is required
• Holidays are rotated
• No call or standby requirement
• 2 shifts of orientation are provided
• 24-hour charge RN coverage is available, and the charge RN is intended to be free of assignment
• 24-hour crisis RN coverage and an administrative supervisor are available as resources
• 24-hour PCT coverage is available, with a PCT ratio of 1:10
• Telemetry patients are monitored remotely by the house-wide telemetry department
• Unit equipment is primarily Phillips
• The unit clerk has 24-hour coverage

Floating

• Travel RNs are first to float as needed
• Float scope includes other med/surg-like units
• Does not float to ICUs
• Does not care for chemo patients

Additional Notes

• Staff provide their own scrubs; any color is allowed
• No pediatric scrubs
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation are included, and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Local rate adjustment applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
