ER RN for an ER - Level IV Trauma Center.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC
• Previous EPIC experience
• Must have strong IV skills
• COVID vaccination required

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled

Unit Details

• 18-bed ER with capacity to expand to 21 beds
• No Fast Track
• Approximately 60 patients per day
• Ratio: 1:3-4
• Charge Nurse 24/7
• Monitor tech 24/7
• RT in-house 24/7
• No IV team
• No floating

Patient Population

• Typical ER patients include CHF, COPD, DM, and COVID
• About 10% pediatric patients
• High incidence of heroin overdose
• Behavioral health patients during the day

Additional Notes

• Traveler must provide own navy blue scrubs
• RNs draw their own labs unless phlebotomy is needed for difficult sticks
• RNs are responsible for mixing drips after pharmacy hours
• Can initiate and titrate all drips except chemo
