Orthopedic RN

Overview

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per week: 36
• Setting: Orthopedic unit with 43 private rooms

Required Qualifications

• RN license: Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Certifications: BLS
• Experience: Postop surgical care and general med surg care
• Submission items: Last four digits of SSN, clinician’s middle initial, requested time off
• Other requirements: Negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred

• 1–2 years of clinical experience

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4–5 on 12-hour days and 1:5–6 on 12-hour nights
• Common patient types include medical-surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma cases with fractures
• Primary charge RN is on each shift; house supervisor is available 24/7
• PCT ratio is 1:7–8
• Unit uses house-wide telemetry pack monitors and Phillips monitors
• Travel RNs float first if needed, occasionally to MedSurg floors
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend
• No call or standby requirement
• Unit-specific orientation is two shifts

Additional Notes

• Local placements within 50 miles are accepted
• Tattoos and piercings must be covered
• Scrubs may be any color, with adult professional appearance
