Critical Care RN
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length

Schedule
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
Unit
- Critical Care
- 8 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3
Required Qualifications
- Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Experience with PEG tube care/feedings
- Experience with CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care
- Experience with tracheostomy patients
- Experience caring for sedated, ventilated patients

Clinical Details
- Common patient types include respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac patients
- RNs are expected to manage ICU-level drips, including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem
- RT is available in house 24/7
- Hospitalist/intensivist coverage is on dayshift only, with tele-health MD available after hours
- Telemetry monitors are hard wired in each room and centrally monitored
- ICU RNs may float to the MS unit
Additional Information
- Local placements within 50 miles are accepted
- Scrubs only; approved OSF t-shirts are allowed and may be any color
- Orientation includes classroom orientation per policy plus 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Weekend requirement is every other weekend and to fill holes
- Holiday rotation is required and to fill holes
- No nurse aides/patient care techs on the unit
- House Supervisor available 24/7
- No call or standby requirement at this time, but it is subject to change
