Emergency Room RN

Overview

• 13-week contract in Hastings, Nebraska
• Small, traveler-friendly ER
• Start ASAP
• 12-hour evening/night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• Emergency Room
• State certified Level III trauma center
• Primary Stroke Center
• 2 triage beds, 2 trauma bays, and 7 additional beds
• About 40 patients per day
• About 20% of volume is pediatric
• No fast track
• Separate triage area
• No separate holding area in the ED
• One psych/seclusion room
• In-house security 24/7
• ED charge nurse every day
• House Supervisor 24/7
• RT in-house 24/7
• CT and MRI are next to the ED

Shift Details

• Possible shift times: 1000-2200, 1200-0000, 1800-0600
• 12-hour shifts: 0600-1800, 1000-2200, 1300-0100, 1800-0600
• Usually every other weekend
• One winter holiday and one summer holiday
• No call or standby
• No floating

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• TNCC
• PALS or ENPC

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of ED experience
• Good communication skills
• Good assessment skills
• Prior travel experience preferred

Orientation

• 3 shifts with another nurse
