Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview

• Respiratory Therapist assignment in Weirton, West Virginia.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
• RRT and/or CRT accepted if grandfathered in by the WV Board of Resp
• WV CARES required prior to start
• Unexpired driver’s license must be submitted
• Licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience

Clinical Setting and Patient Population

• Adults, peds, and neonates
• No NICU
• Areas covered include inpatient MS, PCU, ICU, ER, Rehab, PACU, SNF, Endo, Cath Lab, SDS, and outpatient ABGs and 6 minute walks

Duties

• Floor duties
• Breathing treatments
• ABGs
• Capillary sticks for I-Stats
• Managing respiratory equipment
• Assist with intubations only
• No EKGs

Schedule and Coverage

• 4-week rotation schedule
• No self-scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation may be required
• Call not required
• Floating not specified

Orientation

• 1-3 shifts with a preceptor, as needed

Additional Notes

• Average 90-100 treatments per day
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house 24/7: No
• Traveler would not be the only RT in-house
• Teal scrubs required; acceptable scrub pattern shirt allowed
