RN Infection Prevention

Overview

Role: RN Infection Prevention
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Position type: Interim/Temporary
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: 08:00 - 16:30

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Infection Control (1 year of experience)
Infection Control experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Driver's License

Preferred

BLS
ACLS
NIH Certification

Clinical Focus

Surgical Site Infection (SSI) surveillance, case review, and NHSN reporting
High-Level Disinfection (HLD) practices, assessments, and infection prevention oversight
NHSN surveillance and data entry
HAI surveillance, including CLABSI, CAUTI, C. difficile/LabID, MRSA bacteremia, and SSI
Application of NHSN definitions to complex clinical cases
Identification of infection prevention risks and opportunities for improvement
Collaboration with procedural areas, nursing, physicians, Quality, Sterile Processing, and other clinical stakeholders

Onboarding / Compliance Items

Ascension Color Vision completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
Ascension Core Competencies completed within a year of start, updated every 3 years, with minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score
