ER RN - Emergency Room, Night Shifts

Location: Janesville, WI Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: Night-shift schedule

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Emergency Department experience (1 year), including experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• TNCC or TNS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Assignment Details

• Traveler may work at a second Emergency Department location within Janesville or Beloit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws practice act.
• Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs, as prescribed by physician or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Document according to standards of care.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
• Use critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately through the chain of command.
• Participate in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions, and peer review process.
