Job Description

The Staff Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. This position includes responsibilities for coordinating the activities of co-workers and delegating appropriate tasks in the implementation of patient care. All duties must be performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio. Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate, CPR required.
• Experience: Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolutions; able to handle multiple priorities; capable of making independent decisions; strong critical thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients based on established nursing processes.
• Provide quality care based on patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Educate patients and families throughout the admission and discharge process.
• Document nursing processes accurately and comprehensively.
• Notify physicians of significant observations and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and perform treatments safely and accurately.
• Implement physician orders as directed and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available for patient care.

Physical Capacity Demand

This position may require heavy work, including exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and 25 to 50 pounds frequently, along with continuous movement of lighter objects.
