Description

PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our team for a 36-hour position, working Monday through Thursday nights. This role is integral to providing high-quality post-anesthesia care, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their recovery phase.

Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
Administer medications and perform necessary interventions as per protocols.
Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and potential complications.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and care activities.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 3 years of registered nursing experience.
At least 1 year of travel experience in a PACU setting.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in an academic medical center is required.
Current BLS certification is mandatory.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
