Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical nursing to join our team on a 12-hour night shift. The position requires commitment to working 36 hours per week and a willingness to meet weekend and holiday staffing needs as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments; develop and update individualized patient care plans in collaboration with patients.
• Provide, direct, and evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to safety standards and infection prevention protocols while appropriately using technology.
• Implement evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures in accordance with established standards of care.
• Educate patients and their families, ensuring accurate documentation of all interactions.
• Report any actual or potential occurrences in compliance with facility procedures.
• Engage in self-assessment and peer review; accept responsibility for ongoing professional development and complete mandatory education and competency assessments.
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement activities and staff meetings, supporting operational changes.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with organizational mission, vision, values, and nursing ethics.
• Practice in accordance with the legal definition of nursing in the state of Michigan, including delegation and supervision standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Active Michigan RN license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Must possess a vehicle for transportation.

Additional Information

This position requires prior submission of requested time off (RTO) during the application process, with a maximum of 5 days. Please note that no scheduling requests will be accepted after the submission of your profile. Candidates residing within 50 miles of the workplace are not eligible for this role.

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
