Position Overview
This position is within a Float Pool, requiring flexibility and adaptability as the Registered Nurse (RN) will float between various patient care units. The role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties, including Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units (PCU).
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across various units.
- Participate in patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures for patient safety and quality care.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH required.
- Experience working with adult and geriatric populations preferred.
- Ability to float to various units and handle different patient care scenarios.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system preferred.
Work Schedule
- Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Max 7 days of requested time off (RTO).
- Holidays: Required to work one major holiday per assignment; additional holidays may apply.
Unit Information
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 for PCU and 1:5-6 for Medical Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Floating among designated units is mandatory.
Compliance Information
Full compliance with all requirements is necessary for timely start. Non-compliance may result in a delayed start by two weeks due to orientation scheduling.
Additional Information
Locals are accepted at the same rate, ensuring equal opportunities regardless of travel status. Orientation hours may vary based on contract length.
