Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in the PACU, ensuring their safety and comfort while they recover from anesthesia.
• Provide appropriate interventions and support for varying patient populations, ranging from adolescents to geriatrics.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Utilize electronic health record systems (Epic) and medication distribution systems (Pyxis) to manage patient data and medications.
• Communicate patient condition and care updates using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) format.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a focus on PACU or critical care preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the unit.

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (20:00 - 08:30).
• Every other weekend availability is required.

Additional Information

• Non-billable orientation hours are assigned based on contract length.
• Compliance with all required credentials is necessary to ensure timely start date.
• On-call requirements will rotate among staff on weekdays and weekends.
• Travelers may float within the facility based on patient care needs.
• Holidays: Expectation to work designated major holidays based on assignment period.
