Description
We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team on the night shift. This role involves operating CT equipment under general supervision to acquire diagnostic images for the assessment and treatment of various pathologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, and shielding.
- Select appropriate imaging factors and image designated body parts effectively.
- Explain procedures to patients, taking their physical and emotional needs into account while upholding ethical standards of patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with departmental staff and other medical personnel.
- Calibrate and verify the functionality of all equipment used during shifts, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Execute necessary paperwork and functions within the Radiology Information System for each patient examination.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration as directed by a radiologist, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in meetings, in-services, and continuing education to maintain required CEUs and licensure.
- Occasionally oversee and instruct other personnel and students in the department.
- Prepare equipment rooms and keep supplies stocked for daily use.
- Engage in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the department.
- Assume shift responsibilities flexibly, including weekend and holiday coverage as necessary.
- Transport and transfer patients following established departmental guidelines.
- Utilize independent judgment and initiative in a variety of situations while performing patient exams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license.
- Registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, including at least one year in CT.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients in varying emotional and physical states.
- Analytical abilities essential for understanding and applying imaging processes, techniques, and procedures.
