The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for independently performing comprehensive echocardiograms, including bubble studies and stress echocardiograms, within hospital-based and outpatient settings. This role requires advanced knowledge of congenital anatomy, surgical repairs, and age-dependent physiology, supporting high-acuity diagnostic and clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive echocardiograms, including advanced studies and assessments.
• Acquire high-quality diagnostic images to support accurate evaluations.
• Provide timely and accurate preliminary findings based on acquired data.
• Understand the rationale for patient exams to ensure targeted and effective assessments.
• Comply with patient privacy and safety guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and protocols to maintain quality assurance.
• Stay current with best practices and innovations in echocardiography and cardiac diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Required certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Verification of licenses and certifications as required for the role.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, particularly in relation to congenital heart diseases and surgical interventions.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
