Description
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This is a full-time position available on night shifts.
Unit Information
The unit manages a variety of patients, including those with myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and some medical-surgical overflow cases. The department administers various cardiac drips while not directly using nitrates.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Nights from 7 PM to 7 AM
- Work Type: Full Time
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating Requirement: Required to float when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as necessary to manage clinical situations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN License in the state of employment or compact state required.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required.
Position Requirements
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
- Training includes preceptoring by a designated staff member, competency validation, and completion of an organizational entry competency program.
- Completion of annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
