Job Description
We are currently seeking a Full-time MRI Technologist to work 36 hours per week on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Flexibility for variable shifts may be needed based on census. Holiday coverage may require being on call.
Influenza vaccination is required by the State of Maine, unless a medical exemption is provided and approved by Employee Health.
Duties and Responsibilities
The MRI Technologist will be responsible for providing appropriate care to patients while ensuring their safety and confidentiality. This includes communicating effectively with patients, medical professionals, and other staff members.
- Perform MRI procedures, including building and using protocols.
- Screen patients for contraindications and adhere to safety requirements as per ACR and facility protocols.
- Educate patients about MRI procedures, addressing any concerns with tact and professionalism.
- Ensure the safety of patients and staff by managing hazardous materials and responding to any safety issues.
- Monitor patients visually and verbally throughout the procedure.
- Operate necessary equipment to provide quality patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment to promote safety for patients and colleagues.
- Keep track of equipment status and report any issues.
- Assist in inventory management.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Professional Requirements
- Education: Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited two-year program.
- Licensure/Certification: ARRT registered in MRI, as well as BLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role.
Shift Information
This position requires 3 - 12 hour day shifts on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with the possibility of variable shifts based on census.
Holiday Coverage
Holiday coverage will be required as necessary.
