Job Description:

An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill and unstable patients. This role includes a range of responsibilities and requires a high level of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage life-support equipment, including ventilators.
• Titrate complex intravenous drips and interpret vital signs.
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments.
• Administer medications as per protocols.
• Coordinate advanced care with a multidisciplinary medical team.

Attendance Policy:

Please note that the organization has implemented a strict attendance policy effective June 1, 2024. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for a scheduled shift three times will be terminated immediately. Exceptions may apply with supporting evidence for communicable diseases or hospitalization.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating not considered) - Required
• EKG experience - Required
• Willingness to float to similar units - Required
• Experience in Neuro, CVICU, Trauma - Preferred
• Experience managing ventilators - Preferred
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Balloon Pumps - Preferred

Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required

Licensure:

An active Michigan nursing license is required at the time of submission. Verification through LARA and Nursys must be provided. If there are any license-related issues, a detailed explanation will be beneficial for review.
