About This Role
As an Echocardiographer, you will perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiography studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients. This position allows you to leverage advanced cardiac imaging technology, collaborate closely with cardiologists and care teams, and make a significant impact on patient care within a community-focused critical access hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies in accordance with departmental protocols and professional standards.
- Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by cardiologists while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.
- Utilize clinical judgment to assess patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support streamlined patient care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- A minimum of one year of echocardiography experience is required.
- Travel experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques.

Working Conditions
This position requires a dependable personal vehicle due to the rural location, as public transportation is not available. Housing is not provided, but local resources for housing can be offered. Credentialing must be completed five business days prior to the assignment start date to avoid delays.
Shift Information
Monday to Friday, four 8-hour day shifts per week.
Holiday Coverage
Holiday coverage is not required.
