Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echocardiographer with 3+ years of experience and RDCS or RCS certification for a 13-week assignment at a critical-access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.
Details
- Critical-access acute care hospital setting within the Diagnostic Imaging department
- Perform echocardiography studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients
- Monday through Friday schedule with four 8-hour day shifts per week
- Travelers will start on a Wednesday, with orientation week guaranteeing 36 hours on a 48-hour contract due to the midweek start
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of echocardiography experience required
- RDCS certification through ARDMS or RCS certification through CCI required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies per departmental protocols
- Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for cardiologist interpretation
- Evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings
- Facility is located in a rural area approximately two hours from the nearest major airport with no public transportation, taxi, or ride-share options available
- A dependable personal vehicle is required for the duration of the assignment
- Housing is not provided by the facility, though a list of local housing resources can be shared as a courtesy
- Credentialing must be completed 5 business days prior to assignment start or the start date will be delayed
