Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for winter coverage. This position has an option for an 18-week contract, with the possibility of accepting a 13-week duration as well.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor patients' vital signs, ECGs, and other telemetry readings.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans.
May be required to float to related units to provide care for similar patient populations.

Shifts

This position includes both day and night shifts, rotating between:

Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Shifts may be variable as necessitated by operational needs, with a commitment to work at least every other holiday.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid and active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a compact state.
Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry nursing.
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS from AHA or American Red Cross are required.
Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation is mandatory.
