Description
Join our dynamic team as a CT and X-ray Technologist, responsible for delivering exceptional health care services through diagnostic imaging. This role involves a balanced focus between computed tomography (CT) and X-ray responsibilities, with the requirement of floating to perform X-ray duties up to 50% of the time.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures and related techniques to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures, ensuring accurate documentation is available for licensed practitioners.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to achieve optimal results while minimizing anxiety.
- Select and operate radiography equipment, positioning patients and equipment effectively to demonstrate the area of interest.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and verify proper identification is recorded.
- Assist licensed practitioners during interventional procedures and ensure informed consent is verified.
- Administer contrast media and medications as per established protocols, adhering to safety and aseptic techniques.
- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary and support fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
Computed Tomography Specific Duties
- Operate Computed Tomographic equipment and select appropriate protocols for diagnostic imaging.
- Perform venipunctures and maintain universal precautions to ensure patient safety.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and maintain archival storage of digitized data.
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and care.
- Complete required skills checks in CT imaging, covering various anatomical areas and safe contrast usage.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licenses/Certifications: OBMI and ARRT registered CT technologist; current BLS certification required. CRASE training is preferred.
