Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Unit. This role requires a patient-centered approach and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various neurological conditions.
- Work collaboratively with a team to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members using SBAR methodology.
- Utilize medication and documentation systems including Pyxis and EPIC.
- Adhere to established protocols and procedures in a high-stakes environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
- Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required. NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.
- Skills: Strong teamwork skills and a focused approach to patient safety.
- Preferred: Neuro experience and willingness to learn the charge nurse role.
Job Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 36 or 48 hours accepted weekly
- Contract Duration: 13-20 weeks accepted
- RTO: Maximum of 7 days for automatic offers
- Float Requirement: Travelers are expected to float to different units as needed.
- Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts (approximately every other weekend).
Additional Notes
- Must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
- Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events and mass casualty situations.
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs are required (not provided).
