Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior MFM experience and will be responsible for performing comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds for high-risk pregnancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds, including:
  • First trimester scans (NT and early anatomy)
  • Detailed second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys
  • Growth and biophysical profiles (BPP)
  • Multiple gestations
  • Cervical length assessment
  • Placental evaluation/PAS
  • Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus)
• Evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions and identify abnormal findings.
• Support fetal therapy and invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), PUBS (cordocentesis), and selective fetal reduction performed by physicians.
• Provide compassionate care to patients facing high-risk pregnancies and explain procedures while maintaining emotional sensitivity and privacy.
• Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and complete measurements accurately. Enter exam data into EMR/PACS systems and ensure studies meet accreditation standards (AIUM).
• Collaborate closely with MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff to participate in multidisciplinary care coordination.
• Promptly report abnormal results to providers and conduct bedside consultations as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of prior experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong knowledge of obstetric ultrasound techniques and protocols.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality patient care.

Unit Information

This is a busy unit equipped with six scanning rooms and one coordinator. The unit utilizes state-of-the-art technology to enhance diagnostic capabilities, including the brand new Samsung Hera Z20 ultrasound machine.

Assessment of anatomy scans is allocated 45 minutes (90 minutes for twins), and follow-up/NT early anatomy exams are designated 30 minutes (60 minutes for twins).
