Description
Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer (MFM Sonographer)
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Obstetric Ultrasound
- Perform first-trimester scans, including NT and early anatomy.
- Perform detailed second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys.
- Perform fetal growth assessments and biophysical profiles (BPP).
- Perform examinations for multiple gestations.
- Assess cervical length.
- Evaluate placenta and assess for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS).
- Perform Doppler studies, including umbilical artery, MCA, and ductus venosus.
High-Risk & Specialized Examinations
- Evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions.
- Identify abnormal sonographic findings.
- Support fetal therapy and invasive procedures performed by physicians, including:
- Amniocentesis
- Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
- PUBS/cordocentesis
- Selective fetal reduction
Documentation & Workflow
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
- Obtain and document accurate measurements.
- Enter examination data into EMR/PACS systems.
- Ensure studies meet accreditation standar
