Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in an Intensive Care Unit. This position will require you to provide high-quality nursing care for critically ill patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.
Shift Details
- Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- May require flexible scheduling and potential for extra shifts
Unit Information
- Combination ICU and PCU unit
- 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: ICU 1:1-2, PCU 1:3
- Support staff available: CNAs at a 1:8 ratio
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS Certification
- NIHSS
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU nursing
- Experience with thermaguard/Zoll cooling and targeted temperature management (TTM)
- Must have EPIC electronic health record experience
- Previous travel experience is required
- Ability to titrate standard ICU drips, including vasoactive and sedative medications
Unit Operations
- Intensivist available in-house 7 days a week; eICU support during nights
- Hospitalist present in-house 24/7
- Respiratory Therapists present in the unit 24/7
- Tele/Monitor Technicians support monitoring needs, with RNs required to interpret telemetry strips
Orientation and Culture
Expect a comprehensive orientation with 2 days on the unit. The team fosters a positive culture with a focus on teamwork, which includes active involvement with travelers.
