Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care for critically ill children and participate in collaborative care processes within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients in the intensive care setting.
- Participate in patient assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide necessary interventions.
- Work rotating shifts, including nights and days, across full-time 12-hour shifts.
- Float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as required based on staffing needs.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and effective environment for patients and staff.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Support and guide nursing students and new staff members as needed.
Scheduling Requirements
- Contract duration of 13 weeks.
- Work a minimum of two out of three winter holidays.
- Available for three weekends within a six-week schedule.
- First two weeks of the contract are subject to no time off approval.
- Request for time off may be approved up to 40 hours.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS and PALS certifications are required.
- Pediatric cardiac experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
