Description
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN) – Day/Night Rotating Shift (4x12s)
- Schedule: Day/Night Rotating Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts (48 Hours/Week) | 07:00 – 19:00 or 19:00 – 07:00
- Rotation Structure: Rotates shifts every few weeks (no shift rotation within the same week; block scheduling unavailable).
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW) required (~12–13 weekend shifts per contract).
- Holiday Coverage: Mandatory coverage of a minimum of 2 observed holidays per contract.
- Floating Protocol: Floating is required across clinical units as needed.

- Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 3 years of dedicated PICU clinical experience strictly required (years of orientation do not count toward total experience) [HARDSTOP].
- EMR Requirement [HARDSTOP]: Hands-on proficiency with Epic EMR strictly required (no exceptions) [HARDSTOP].
- State Licensure [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active Virginia RN License OR active Multi-State Compact RN License strictly required at submission [HARDSTOP].
- Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]:
- Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support — Healthcare Provider) [HARDSTOP].
- Active AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) [HARDSTOP].
- Pediatric Critical Care Capabilities [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency managing mechanical ventilation, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, telemetry, and complex emergency pediatric pharmacotherapy [HARDSTOP].
