Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology, adheres to departmental protocols and policies, and maintains active RT(R) credentials. This role involves utilizing technical expertise to troubleshoot issues within the work unit and sharing knowledge with colleagues and students.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographics, examination requests, and emulsion markers for accuracy.
• Critique, orient, and save pertinent images; transmit quality-controlled images to PACS.
• Document completion or cancellation of procedures in the RIS and ensure accurate records.
• Maintain image management equipment and report any malfunctions to appropriate resources.
• Utilize PACS and HIS systems to obtain additional study data and manage examinations.
• Perform timely and quality radiographic imaging consistently while analyzing examination requests.
• Review radiographic orders and correlate patient demographic information to ensure accuracy.
• Assess patients’ physical conditions, developing action plans for examinations and ensuring safety compliance.
• React promptly to emergency situations and provide necessary assistance to patients requiring additional attention.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, documenting incidents and suggesting improvement opportunities.

Education and Certifications

Required Education

• Accredited Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ARRT Certified in Radiography.
• Must maintain registry status and fulfill continuing education requirements annually.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Additional Information

Proficiency in performing portable imaging is required, and the ability to float to outpatient locations as needed is essential for this position.
