Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This role requires a minimum of one year of experience and is integral to providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. The selected candidate will operate in various settings, including the emergency room, special care units, and other clinical areas.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Day and Evening Shifts Available
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work on holidays if scheduled

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct 4-8 treatments per patient round.
• Administer mechanical ventilation, including non-invasive ventilation using Hamilton C1 equipment.
• Perform procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation.
• Provide education in pulmonary function tests, EEGs, and stress lab settings where applicable.
• Collaborate with medical teams to stabilize pediatric and adult patients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is highly preferred.
• Proficient in the use of respiratory therapy equipment, including Hamilton C1 and T1 ventilators, as well as ResMed home CPAP/BIPAP machines.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a department-specific orientation which includes one 12-hour shift of shadowing to familiarize with the unit protocols and systems.

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Professional scrubs in any color.
• RTs are required to assist with intubations but are not required to perform them independently.
• Departmental oversight is provided by the Director of Cardiopulmonary.
• Flexible scheduling options may be available, but willingness to work a variety of shifts is essential.
