Position Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will conduct a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support to other imaging technologists as required, and assist in facilitating smooth and efficient patient flow. Flexibility to work various shifts and/or across multiple locations is essential.

The technologist will troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in quality assurance activities, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Ongoing education, adherence to safety protocols, and technical advancements within the scope of licensure are expected. Technologists will maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management while ensuring compliance with all relevant safety measures.

• Enhance physician satisfaction by assisting radiologists and referring physicians effectively.
• Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique needs of each individual, considering their physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental requirements.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and standards set forth by regulatory agencies and internal governance.
• Perform examinations and procedures necessary to optimize patient throughput, within the scope of the technologist's licensure and documented competencies.
• Facilitate the accurate scanning and storage of completed exams in the PACS system.
• Act as a PACS Superuser, adhering to downtime procedures and coordinating with the PACS administrator for issue resolution.
• Report equipment malfunctions to designated personnel and conduct appropriate follow-up as required.
• Carries out other assigned duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent approved institution is required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB is required.
• State licensure (Texas: MRT by TMB) is required.
• BLS certification (AHA only) is required.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time with a schedule of 5 days, 8 hours per day.
