We are seeking dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurses to join our team for an exciting contract opportunity. As an essential part of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and care for adult patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Utilize Epic for charting and patient management.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Participate in codes and rapid response situations as required.
• Provide care for patients with various conditions, including bowel obstructions, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV-related tasks, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Manage surgical drains, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Float between units as needed to meet patient care demands.

Shift Details:

Shifts consist of 12-hour night shifts.

Orientation:

Orientation includes both Human Resources and unit-specific training. Participation in unit orientation will be scheduled based on availability.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Active nursing license and current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Previous experience with Epic required.
• Two clinical references, including at least one leadership reference from assignments within the last year.
• Ability to float to different areas as required.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a teaching hospital environment.
• Prior involvement in trauma care (Level 1 & 2).

Required Skills:

• Experience with rapid response and code teams.
• Knowledge of IV insulin protocols.
• Familiarity with wound care and wound vac management.
• Experience with managing central lines and blood product administration.
• Proficient in starting and managing peripheral lines.

Additional Information:

• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5.
• The age group primarily served consists of adult patients.
• First-time travelers are welcomed.
• A 6-month separation period is required before reapplying for employment.
