Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our critical care team. This role requires a strong clinical background in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit with a focus on providing high-quality care to patients with complex medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Assess patient conditions and administer medications as required.
• Monitor patient vitals and interpret telemetry strips proficiently.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Attendings and Residents available 24/7.
• Manage care for patients with diagnoses including but not limited to: Substance Abuse/Overdose, Severe Psychiatric Conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock.
• Float to Medical/Surgical Units as needed, caring for up to 4-5 patients.

Qualifications

• Active RN License in the applicable state.
• 2+ years of continuous MICU experience required.
• Expertise in reading telemetry strips is essential.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends.

Working Conditions

This position requires floating to Medical/Surgical Units based on patient care needs. The RN to Patient Ratio in the MICU is typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other areas.
