Position Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs specialized procedures using radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This role requires expertise in various imaging techniques and patient care practices.
Shift Information
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: None
- Call Requirements: None
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- ARRT or NMTCB certification
- Maine licensure
- 1+ years of experience in nuclear medicine
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a community hospital setting
- Proficiency with PACS, Epic, and GE systems
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 7-8
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
Common Imaging Procedures
- Cardiac: Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Bone Scans: Metastatic Disease
- Thyroid Studies: Hypothyroid, Hyperthyroid, Thyroid Cancer
- Gastric Emptying Studies: Motility Disorders
Additional Skills Required
- IV starts and phlebotomy
- Experience with cardiac imaging
- Knowledge of tumor localization techniques
Personality and Work Style
Candidates should exhibit a strong commitment to patient care, teamwork, and professionalism in all interactions
