Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team. This role will involve working with a diverse patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics, primarily focusing on adult respiratory therapy while also providing care for pediatric intubated patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience; first-time travelers are welcomed.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and a Georgia RRT License.
• Trauma experience is required.
• Experience in pulmonary function testing (Spirometry testing) is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for the following:

• Managing non-invasive ventilation and conventional ventilation.
• Administering aerosol therapy and performing bedside pulmonary function tests.
• Placing arterial lines and managing oxygen therapy.
• Providing patient education and performing arterial blood gas (ABG) and capillary blood gas (CBG) assessments.
• Drawing blood from lines as necessary.

Work Setting

The position is based in a level 2 trauma center, which is interventional stroke certified, and hosts a level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource.

Schedule Requirements

• Shift: Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour shifts (approximately 18:30 - 07:00).
• Every other weekend is required unless specified otherwise.
• A maximum of 7 days off is permitted within the scheduling framework.
• Floating between facilities is required as necessary.

Holiday Requirements

The traveler is expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period. If two major holidays occur, both are to be worked, and if three fall during this period, the traveler is expected to work at least two of those holidays. Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance

Full compliance with required documents and certifications is necessary to ensure timely onboarding. Delays may extend the start date due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Locals are accepted at the same rate. Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours will be determined by contract length.
