Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience in a similar environment. This position requires the ability to manage patient care efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
- Experience with IV start and telemetry monitoring
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Must have EPIC experience
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Local candidates are welcome
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Job Details
- Target Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6/7 (maximum of 1:7 during high census)
- Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available
- 36 hours per week can be offered
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45 - 07:15
- Maximum Request Time Off (RTO): 7 days for AYA auto offer
- Floating to other units as needed
- Every other weekend requirement
Patient Population
The unit primarily provides care for Med-Surg patients. Cardiac telemetry patients are no longer accepted.
Unit Information
- Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- Self-scheduling available for nursing staff
- 24-hour unit orientation provided
- Scrubs not provided; Navy and/or white scrubs required
Additional Information
Candidates must successfully pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty area.
