Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

Shift Schedule

This position offers a night shift of 3x12 hours, working from 19:00 to 07:30. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, subject to operational needs.

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry unit will provide comprehensive care for inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and managing patients with complex cardiovascular diagnoses.

Patient Population

Patients experiencing sepsis
Myocardial Infarction (MI)
Unstable angina
Coronary Artery Disease
Cardiac patients on IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation

Special Procedures/Unit Details

Administration of vasoactive drugs
Antiarrhythmic drug therapy
Thrombolytic therapy
Defibrillation and cardioversion
Thoracentesis
Cardiac telemetry monitoring
Electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation
Non-invasive blood pressure monitoring

Qualifications

Current South Carolina Registered Nurse license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC electronic health records
At least 2 years of experience in a related field preferred; first-time travelers will be considered based on experience

Additional Requirements

Float to related units or other facilities may be required based on the needs of the organization.
