Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join a dynamic team in a pod-based 65-bed Emergency Department. This unit includes a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area, catering to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy and EKGs as required.
• Monitor cardiac activity and conduct point of care testing.
• Apply splints and provide critical thinking in high-pressure situations.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
• Float to the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Health unit as needed.
• Adhere to established clinical protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• Proficient in essential ED nursing skills including assessment and documentation.
• Ability to manage a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC – ASAP.
• Rotating shifts may be required; night positions do not rotate.

Certifications

• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with an average of 230 visits per day. Free on-site parking is available, and shifts will include nights and weekends.
