Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Tech to join our team. The Cath Lab Tech will be responsible for providing exceptional care in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting. This position requires a high level of professionalism and expertise in various cath lab procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic catheterizations on adult patients, including hemodynamic monitoring.
- Conduct left and right heart catheterizations and insert permanent pacemakers.
- Assist with scrub procedures and circulate various interventional and diagnostic procedures.
- Engage in insertion and programming of AICDs, pacemaker insertion, and angioplasty.
- Conduct various diagnostic tests, including aortography, pelvic angiography, and pulmonary arteriography.
- Perform stent placements, dialysis graft interventions, and angiographic procedures for upper and lower extremities.
- Utilize fluoroscopy and accurately monitor equipment setup.
- Prepare access sites and perform EKG lead placements.
- Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and implement appropriate responses.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to isolation precautions.
- Ensure proper stocking of supplies and equipment for all procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Tech.
- Previous travel assignment experience is required.
- Certifications must include:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- ARRT CI (Radiologic Technologist - Cardiovascular Interventional)
- ARRT VI (Radiologic Technologist - Vascular Interventional)
- CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Acceptable certifications also include either ARRT or RCIS.
Patient Population
The Cath Lab Tech will primarily work with adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with conditions such as coronary artery disease (CAD), peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and cancer.
Work Schedule
This position offers a 5-day work week with shifts of 8 hours each, featuring no on-call requirements, weekends, or major holidays.
Work Environment
The Tech will operate in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab, emphasizing teamwork and a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
