Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze diagnostic data for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Identification: Ensure accurate verification of patient identification, obtain patient history, and assist patients and family members, particularly those requiring additional attention. Focus on patient safety and comprehension, including documenting pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
• CT Scans: Acquire images per established protocols, manipulate images accordingly, and perform multi-planar and 3D reconstructions. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of CT algorithms, selecting appropriate window and level settings based on anatomy.
• Contrast Administration: Administer oral contrast to both adult and pediatric patients. Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast, adhering to safe injection procedures. Assess patient eligibility for contrast use and check relevant lab values prior to injection.
• Image Transfer: Maintain an understanding of PACS to transmit images to quality control, electronic medical records (EMR), and PACS systems. Verify and segment images at the QC station, access service tools to ensure successful transmission, and manage orders efficiently to prevent duplicate billing. Ensure accuracy of all charge information.
• Other Duties: Perform tasks promptly, manage the schedule to maintain workflow, actively engage in challenging tasks, and produce high-quality diagnostic images. Review patient charts for correlation and maintain a clean work environment. Document incidents for departmental improvement and assist in training new employees and students.

Required Skills & Experience

Candidates must possess education, training, and experience that equip them with the ability to perform assigned tasks effectively.

Education

• Required: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
• Preferred: N/A

Certifications & Licensure

• Required: Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (or registry eligible) and advanced certification in CT. Registry-eligible candidates must provide a copy of their diploma from the accredited program.
• Successful candidates are required to become registered within one year of employment and maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
• All imaging specialists must maintain current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).

Schedule

This position requires availability from Friday to Sunday, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Siemens experience is preferred.
