Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of General Diagnostic Radiology. This role involves adhering to departmental protocols and policies, obtaining RT(R) credentials, and maintaining "Active Status." The technologist will utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot issues within the work unit and will be proactive in sharing knowledge with colleagues and students.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of patient demographics, emulsion markers, and examination requests.
• Critique, orient, and save pertinent images while transmitting quality-assured images to the PACS.
• Document completion or cancellation of all procedures in the RIS, including relevant comments.
• Maintain image management equipment and report any issues to appropriate resources.
• Utilize RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS to access information and document procedure statuses effectively.
• Verify patient identity and obtain relevant medical histories, including pregnancy status, before administering ionizing radiation.
• Assess patients' physical conditions and develop action plans for examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• React promptly to emergency situations as they arise.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and document incidents, providing feedback to supervisors for potential improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• No prior experience is required.

Education

• Required: Accredited Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.

Certifications & Licensure

• ARRT Certified in Radiography.
• Must maintain registry status and adhere to continuing education requirements annually.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Additional Information

Experience with EPIC and familiarity with Ortho, C-ARM, Siemens, DECA, Care Stream, and Sectra PAC/Eos is preferred. High-volume work is expected, and proficiency with pediatric cases is important. The technologist will travel between outpatient clinics within the region. The typical work shift is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
